To perform card data cryptographic operations such as generating or validating card and PIN data or PIN Block Translation, a Payment HSM is required. AWS CloudHSM is a general purpose HSM, not a payment HSM. To perform these operations in AWS there’s a managed service called AWS Payment Cryptography
that uses and manages payment HSMs internally and allows you to perform these operations using APIs.
